Azilal is a region known for its decorative geometric tribal design, and our beautiful "Zaid" rug doesn't fall short. Displaying a bold and colourful composition against an ivory backing, which is highlighted against bold and eclectic symbols handwoven with a mix of orange, pink, blue, black, green, greys and yellows. This design show's the incredible skill of the Berber weaver.
This wonderfully oversized Azilal was designed in Berlin and handmade by our Berberlin Women's Initiative. Collaborating with 12 talented and strong Berber women in the heights of the Atlas Mountains to design and produce our very own Berber rugs, creating a safe, ethical and sustainable working environment along the way. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful outcome.
Each Berber rug has been sustainably made with raw materials to create durability to be used for many years, using the same traditional techniques that have been past down from generation to generation throughout antiquity.
