What a wonderful balance between neutral space and colourful design. The cream background, made from sheep's wool, is highlighted against bold, yet minimal, patterns of pinks, blues, turquoise, red, orange, browns and greens. Playful lines and zig-zag are featured through the rug against a fantastic pattern of multi-coloured diamond motifs. Four sporadic Berber symbols complete the composition which is set against a black and white woven border on either end.
This wonderfully oversized Azilal was designed in Berlin and handmade by our Berberlin Women's Initiative. Collaborating with 12 talented and strong Berber women in the heights of the Atlas Mountains to design and produce our very own Berber rugs, creating a safe, ethical and sustainable working environment along the way. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful outcome.
Each Berber rug has been sustainably made with raw materials to create durability to be used for many years, using the same traditional techniques that have been past down from generation to generation throughout antiquity.
